While most companies can easily justify dedicating significant resources to manage suppliers in select “core” expense categories, it isn’t practical to assign similar resources for other areas of their business. Consequently, it’s not possible to gain an intimate understanding of the individual industries behind the many expense categories (“insider knowledge”), limiting companies from designing the optimal supplier arrangements that would deliver the best value for their company.

As a result, most companies have no choice but to manage the majority of their suppliers in a similar fashion and using general purchasing practices.  For example, most companies request multiple bids and negotiate the suppliers against each other to find the lowest price that meets their requirements, and with this, they think that they’re doing all that can be done.  Our experience over 20 years, and in managing nearly 20,000 client projects, has found that companies may be leaving significant money on the table in many expense categories

The Way we Work with You

Like most organizations today, you may be operating so lean that you may not have the resources or time to even consider taking on a project to review your expenses. If that is the case, you can choose to have ERA bring in all the resources required to analyze, execute, monitor, and manage the entire program to ensure the least distraction to your team. 

It could also be likely that you did not budget for engaging an expense management consultant. With our contingency-based model, you would take on no risk, ERA would make the up-front investment in resources and expertise, and you would only pay us from the incremental cash flow that you would have, otherwise, not received on your own.

You may also feel that you’ve already done a great job of managing expenses, and there really isn’t anything worthwhile to recover.  If that is the case, then we will assume the risk that there is nothing left, and we will investigate your expense categories on a contingency basis – if there are no savings, there is no fee.
