ERA wraps up $150,000 in reduced packaging costs

A $30 million New Jersey manufacturer of consumer products and cosmetics spent $450,000 annually on corrugated boxes and display materials. They wanted to reduce their packaging costs and make their services more attractive and economical to clients.

ERA helped the client to better understand the current cost structure for their products and services, identify competitive supply sources and recommended more economical ways to serve their customers.

Analysts extracted data from supplier invoices to understand the client's buying habits. ERA researched the market place to identify alternative suppliers that would be a "good fit" for our client. ERA then prepared RFPs for six suppliers that provided the level of service required.

ERA analyzed each of the responses and rated them based on the client's criteria. ERA presented a Recommendation Report that detailed how the client could save with the incumbent vendor. ERA then worked with the incumbent vendor to implement the cost savings, and to create plans to work together to generate increased savings on new projects. The client invested 20 hours and saved $150,000 annually with the incumbent supplier.
